I finally got QE to work with an nvidia card using NVInstaller and efi studio but the wake from sleep was really screwy and would not work.

And it wouldn't work with two different nvidia based cards I tried using the drivers in the iPC install disc either. I couldn't get QE/CI with iPC 10.5.6 with my 2600XT no matter what I did.
How can i get the qe/ci to work with 2900 XT?

I have tried both the installer and other manual method explained in other post. I have installed iPC 10.5.6 and i can't get my HD 2900 XT (id: 0x9400) CI/QE. On its "About ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT Firmware Update" page, Apple posts: "This update is for Mac Pro computers with one or more ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics cards installed, running Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later with the Leopard Graphics Update.
System instabilities should be fixed, according to Apple, that also notes that the update requires Mac OS X 10.5.2 with the latest Leopard graphics update. Apple has now rolled out an update for the Mac Pro ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics card.
The apparent cause? ATI-based video cards. Ma(four days ago) saw Apple forums flooded with complaints of graphics freezes. Are you one of the Mac Pro users experiencing a graphical distortion? Well, chances are that if you are, you probably switched to a new graphics card already, but if you haven't Apple would like to let you in on a little something called the Mac Pro ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT update!
